Education is so much more than the mere gathering of facts. I believe the primary role of education is to transform learners into productive members of their society. As a constructivist, I offer learners inquiry-centered curriculum that stimulates critical thinking abilities, and applications for their daily lives.

Courses Taught

Ag Media Writing I. In this course, learners develop skill in news gathering, writing, editing and ethics for current and emerging mediums, including news identification and story development, interviewing, attribution and AP style.

Design for Agricultural Media. This course focuses on the principles and practices of agricultural media design, including design and production of printed publications and graphics using computer-assisted design and production of media pieces.

Journalism Concepts in Agriculture. In this course, learners analyze agricultural communications as a career field, identify and practice essential skills, and prepare for the internship/job search process.

Undergraduate Research. In this independent study course, learners are exposed to basic research principles and participate in an ongoing research study.

Reputation Management in Agricultural Crisis. This course focuses on strategies for effective branding, crisis communication, and image restoration practices for agricultural organizations.
